Be sure to book your tickets in advance to avoid long queues, take your sunscreen, plenty of water, walking shoes, and secure a spot on a guided tour.

Generalife Gardens Adjacent to the Alhambra, the Generalife Gardens offer a serene retreat from the bustling city. Wander through lush greenery, admire the colorful flowers, and marvel at the stunning fountains and water features that create a peaceful atmosphere. 

The historic Albayzín neighborhood is a maze of narrow, winding streets lined with traditional whitewashed houses. Explore this UNESCO-listed area on foot, take in the panoramic views from the Mirador de San Nicolás, and visit the numerous churches and museums scattered throughout. 

Sacromonte is famous for its cave dwellings and vibrant flamenco culture. Discover the fascinating history of this unique neighborhood, visit Sacromonte Abbey, and don't miss the chance to see an authentic flamenco show in one of the local caves.

Tips for Travelers 

Best Time to Visit: Granada is a year-round destination, but spring and autumn offer the most pleasant weather for sightseeing. During these seasons, the city's gardens are in full bloom, and the temperature is ideal for outdoor activities (Do NOT recommend summer time, unless you want to be sitting in 100F+ degree heat even after sundown). 

Getting Around: Granada is a walkable city (I took a car, it was an unnecessary added expense), with many attractions in close proximity. However, for longer distances, consider using public transportation or renting a bike. 

Language and Currency: Spanish is the official language, and the local currency is the Euro (€). It's always a good idea to learn a few basic Spanish phrases and carry some cash for smaller purchases (small artisan shops only took cash). 

Accommodation: Granada offers a wide range of accommodation options, from budget-friendly hostels to luxurious hotels. My Wife and I stayed at the Áurea Catedral, right in the middle of town, walkable to everything. Book in advance to secure the best deals, especially during peak seasons.
